++| What only appears in Nightmares|++
++| The light colored steed marched slowly up the volcano, though it may have seemed a large effort to anyone else; he did it with ease. He halted as he approached the summit. His legs covered in soot from the dirt he kicked up during the climb. He stood over looking the landscape with a look of disgust and his facial expression barely ever changed from that. The desolate terrain before him looked perfectly suited for what his future may hold. Though the path he had trod on before now had been very narrow. Though he only had to make one decision. The decision was easy for him, it was, leave for the the sacred lands or kill his parents. The latter being his decision and he didn't just do it because he felt that was what he had to do, he wanted to test his skills. He had surpassed his father in an early age and it took him only five minutes to kill them both. Recalling the wailing, echoing through his mind. Sadistic? Yes, To Akira their deaths were nothing more to then something he would have killed to eat, it caused him no pain. In fact it made his heart pound and gave him energy. There was just happiness, that he would be free of their burden.
Glancing up at the sky, though it seemed dark and deary. It was only because there was constantly thunderheads scouring the layer of atmosphere. They threatened to light up the sky at any moment. And distant rumbles of thunder and flashes of lightening told him where he was wasn't the most safest place to be. But when did he ever care about safe and nice things. Things like that made his stomach churn and that was something very hard to do.
The flashes and thunder moved closer to him , he held his position, head high in the air, as the wind picked up it tore at his mane but he held fast. It was if the forest knew that some demon entered the land and this was its welcome party. Shaking his head furiously and pulling his front legs in the air, he thrashed them about and screamed into the darkness as it began to pour. The sky above him was now purple and the strikes of lightening lit up the earth every few seconds. The humid scent in the air began to fade as the earth was soaked with water. A fine greeting he thought as his hooves touched firm ground again. Now he would wait, for some sign that this land was his.|++

The air is thick with electricity. I can see an angry black thunderhead looming. It looks to be an exciting storm. I look to the volcano and spot a figure climbing. Ideot. Climbing a volcano in what looks to be the worst electrical storm this year. I can think of few things more stupid. But he can throw his life away. It is none of my concern. The ground is slippery with rain and ash from the age old volcanoe. I slip and slide in an ungainly manner. Ugh. I look around for some shelter, and spot an overhang in the rocks. I cannot see anything better in this god-forsaken place, so it will have to do. I manage to pick my way over there, hardly able too see from the rain and the almost constant flashes. The rocks shelter me well enough. I think of the fool climbing the volcano. I cannot see him from here. The wind is blowing harder now, turning into a gale or more. It is so dark, like night, although I know it is just past midday. I am blinded for a moment by a brilliant flash of lightning, and deafened by the clap of thunder a split second after. I get a burst of adrenalin and start to laugh. This is one heck of a storm.

Poltergeist
Ashes to ashes, dust to dust. Does anyone honestly care what that really means? Certainly not me, why should I for that matter. I find that the only thing that really matters is what I think and that alone. Am I arrogant? You can't tell? Well that's pathetic. I don't give a damn what you think, I don't care if you call yourself a lead. A king? Don't make me laugh. So I've wandered here for no reason and if you're wondering, no I did not hear your call of claimence and no I do not care for anything about you. Except perhaps your name... possibly. I do have to admit that it is for the benefit of the doubt to know who your speaking to. Otherwise, later, if I feel the need to hunt you down, I will know who you are and where you come from. Yes I'm sneaky, sly, and a bastard. Not bad, eh? What makes you different? Oh let me guess, this is always amusing. You have a land and I don't? I might have a heartattack from the laughter.
A ridgeline was created by the eerie glow that fell from the towering silent volcanoes, a dark stripe floated mysteriously in between the darkness. The night was illuminated by a sudden burst of lightning from the heavens and what appeared to be deserted was suddenly filled with life. A steed stood upon the top of a volcano, and then there was another equine following slightly in it's wake. But there was another, one that had moments ago not been there. It was glimpsed only for a second, for as the light fell and the darkness gave way again, it was not there. It was one of those times where if you were looking, you would stare and hope to get another glimpse. Yet as another bolt shattered the still, the spot where it was visualized before was empty. Whatever it was appeared to have the agility of a ghost, or a mirage, one that was there, then it was not. But hidden solemnly in the darkness beside the volcano, there the "spirit" stood still, surveying the equines with a harsh eye. An eye that was ghost-like with it's silvery-tint and hazy glare, and eye that held past secrets within from centuries ago. Was it a true formed equine, or simply a figment of your imagination?
The answer was formed as the creature gave way and stepped into the light. It was a thick stallion, with his neck crested and held at his shoulders, while his powerful hindquarters bore the veins of extraordinary muscles. His hooves left craters in the ground behind him as he made his way, almost lazily in the direction of each equine. All at once, his goal point was changed and he stole away into the darkness. The poltergeist made his way behind the form of the other stallion and the point on the volcano where he stood and began the steep incline up the volcano, with as much ease as the other had pertained and more. Rocks clattered beneath his flints and made small rockslides that gathered at the base of the hill. He gave them no more than a glance over his shoulder until the land suddenly leveled out before him. He glanced up, the stallion stood several feet above him, but a rambunctious smirk was carved from stone onto his cerebrum.
"So you enjoy getting struck by lightning I see. That would be fairly amusing to the witness, wouldn't you agree?"
So he enjoyed taunting and harassing other stallions, big deal. Mares were no different either. But as a great rumble of thunder sounded and another massive boom echoed over the horizon, his smirk broadened until it could go no further. He watched the stallion for signs of life, for anything for that matter. It was fun to watch them break under his stare, that ghost-like haunting he pretained. He appeared only in nightmares, and this was the stallions lucky day.

++| What only appears in Nightmares|++
++| The flashes increased as the storm drew on and he watched the land with utter disgust. Though the heavy rain seemed to mask the scents he still caught a ,whiff of a mare and a stallion. Soon he had spotted both of them. The stag was approaching him and the mare ran for cover. As her pelt was being soaked, but so was his, he was now a dark gray instead of his dapple color.
He glanced up at the sky, purple clouds seemed to race across the sphere. Looking down at the earth once more he noticed the stallion only standing a few feet from him away. The stag spoke with a humorous tone, as if trying to anger him in some way. Akira only smirked and pinned his ears. He was not effected by words, so the jest only made him grin. He ought to have a smart remark. So he measured what he would say and what sort of tone he it should be in. Then he spoke his words clear and concise.
" I do try my hardest to make others laugh."
His sarcastic tone gave way to a large grin. It would seem he would have fun arguing with this stag. This stallion had potential that most others would strive for. Other herd leaders only wanted large herds with every mare in foal. There would be no doubt of foals but there would be strong warriors. That was Akiras only concern. The strength not the size of his herd.
He sighed and glanced in the direction of where the mare had hid. Eventually she would come to speak to him or he would have to go in search of her. His silver eyes flashed white with every strike, giving his soaked dapple gray pelt a phantom look to it.. Though the stallion had a more ghostly aura about him. He sighed as the sky gave another thunder and a few more flashes. He waited for the stallion to speak.|++

Rain fell in torrents from the weeping skies, doing little to detour the fae that made her way steadily toward the gathered equines. Her fine white pelt was grayed by water, her legs splashed with dark mud. But the carriage of her head and sleek body forgave the unstately appearance, proud but not condescending. Not yet, anyways. Inaka was not fool enough to immediately insult one who may or may not have the ability to thrash her in a fight, either verbal or physical. Her eyes, a particular shade of amber brown, appraised the two stallions, though Akira seemed to be looking at someone hidden by the forest eaves. Inspection complete, Inaka spoke, unable to keep from teasing.
“Gracious lord, I have arrived. I pray my dalliance has not worried at your mind.”
An impish grin broke across her features, her eyes dancing wickedly. Inaka was in a fine humor, and expressed it with a gleeful snap of her banner as she moved closer. Her sharp eyes caught the silhouette of another by the treeline, illuminated as it were by a bright flash from above. The form was not near enough to hold her attention, and her gaze moved to the remaining stranger, almost invisible under the raging atmosphere. His stance was relaxed, almost mocking. Inaka raised her chin in a cold greeting, the rude intent offset by her mischievous eyes.

++| He smirked at the mare, his maw almost giving way to a smile. Her words made him almost laugh. Though he was proud of his find. He wasn't about to be anxious over her delay. The flashes lighting up all of their pelts making them all look ghostly. Standing on the rim of the inactive volcano, He liked taking risks, standing up here was making him wish the lightening crash nearer to him. Maybe he was a little suicidal. He turned his attention back to her and thought over her words again. He thought of a good response as to continue the humor, their conversing.
" Dear lady, I am most delighted by your arrival, though I have indeed been most anxious."
His sarcasm filled the air. He spread his lips to show his fangs in a large grin. His neck became arched as he shook his head free of water. He then waited for her.|++

I see the other equines gathering near the first one. I stay where I am. If they want to talk to me, they'll have to come over themselves. Sure, you might call me anti-social. I do not deny it. You also might not call me brave. For not taking the risk of standing out in the storm, like those others. Maybe I am not brave, but I am not stupid. Lightning killed my parents. I'm not about to make the same mistake. The electricity intensifies, and in that split second, there is a flash of bright light, and a crack like the sky was opening up. It is over in a split second, but is still terrifying. I do the only thing a horse in her right mind would do. I bolt.
Once I am calmer, I look back at the rock which had until a moment ago been my shelter, and see that it is burned black. I shudder. How ironic. I look up at the boiling black clouds, half expecting to get fried any second. I hate lightning. I wish I had never come here.

Inaka started at the flash of lightning, her feet flying from the ground as the earth-bound charge licked at her tendons, making them contract painfully. Stumbling lightly, as she regained her balance, the snowy white fae snorted sharply, eyeing the charred stone. She did not fear the storm, per say, but rather knew what natures fury might unleash upon those who dared traverse her surface. And in the hellstorm that was life, no one was safe. With a haughty toss of her crown the vixen danced closer to the foreign mare, mocha eyes black in the cloudshade.
“Dare I introduce myself again, lady stormrunner? I‘m Inaka.”
Her voice strained not to be lost on the sweeping winds, the tones thankfully uninterrupted by the skyfire. Inaka cast a wandering stare about her, eyes lingering on the two stallions as lightning illuminated their figures. She may be wicked of heart, but could appreciate a herd all the same. It seemed they might have a fine one here, if indeed more then just herself and Akira were pledged to these lands.
